Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator 2 to join our team at the Newark Board of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of multi-network, multi-user Local Area Networks (LAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), and/or Wide Area Networks (WAN).

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain multi-network, multi-user LAN, MAN, and/or WAN environments.
Maintain and/or supervise maintenance of centralized, decentralized, and remote network services.
Maintain and/or direct maintenance of network security and data integrity.
Provide and/or direct consultations and recommendations to infrastructure managers as required to troubleshoot and resolve network problems, monitor overall performance, and conduct upgrades as required.
Take the lead in planning upgrades, capacity, and communication requirements.
Perform other related duties.

Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree, which must include a minimum of eighteen (18) semester hour credits in mathematics and/or computer science from an accredited college or university.
Four (4) years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of multi-network, multi-user LAN, MAN, and/or WAN environments.
Ability to establish goals and set priorities.
Ability to schedule and organize work activities and identify/resolve problems which arise.
Ability to interact with orders and come to consensus on various issues.
Ability to prepare clear, sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a standard office environment.
May be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: $84,600 - $100,082 (salary range updated for SY)
Employment Period: Twelve (12) months
Union Affiliation: Local 32
