We are currently in search of a Project Engineer to play a crucial role in the planning, direction, and coordination of technical activities for construction projects, ensuring that objectives and key deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze critical project activities and milestone dates, proactively identifying potential challenges and providing necessary support to address them.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive submittal log, ensuring all contract documents are cross-referenced for product compliance and coordination among trades.
  • Keep an updated Record Set of Contract documents in the main office, which includes specifications, drawings, addenda, and as-built information.
  • Compile warranty and O&M manuals, ensuring all necessary close-out documents are solicited and logged.
  • Draft, input, and update the project schedule in collaboration with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Assist the Superintendent in managing on-site safety programs.
  • Generate and log RFIs pertinent to your responsibilities, verifying the validity of RFIs from the Superintendent and Subcontractors before submission to the architect.
  • Review and verify job cost status reports, inputting relevant information as needed.
  • Document verbal agreements and conversations with subcontractors, owners, architects, and other relevant parties.
  • Support the Project Manager with purchasing, invoice approvals, subcontractor quotes, change orders, engineering, quality control, and the on-site Safety Program.
  • Review subcontractor payment requests, ensuring the accuracy of lien releases and certified payroll.
Additional Duties:
  • Assist in developing meeting minutes.
  • Capture weekly job site photos as required and conduct site visits several times a week.
  • Review, catalog, and archive field project files for completed projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards and their implications on construction activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create reports, business correspondence, and presentation materials.
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in applying mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
  • Advanced computer skills in Windows-based applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access, as well as job costing and project management software.
  • Possess a valid driving record.
Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting a range of instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education and Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience with a general contractor in a project engineering capacity or field superintendent role, or a four-year degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
