Chief Compliance Officer

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Compliance Standards and Risk Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and continuously improving a formal and proactive compliance program that enables our agency to comply with laws, regulations, rules, and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program that promotes a culture of compliance and risk management.
- Provide executive-level leadership and guidance on compliance and risk issues to all ATF Directorates.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective compliance policies, training, monitoring, and auditing processes are fully incorporated into programs and initiatives.
- Measure, monitor, and mitigate operational risks for the agency.
- Manage an internal inspection program focused on policy compliance and risk management.
- Provide executive-level input on the development, formulation, and implementation of agency policies and procedures.
- Coordinate on compliance and risk issues at both the intra-departmental level and with other Federal, state, and local regulatory and law enforcement officials.
- Top Secret Clearance required.
- Pass drug screening and subject to random drug test.
- New SES appointees must successfully complete a 1-year probationary period.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
This is a non-bargaining unit position. Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) - Mandatory. You are required to submit information describing your experience in each of the five ECQs. The narratives should be clear, concise, and illustrate your overall record (professional and volunteer experience, education and training, accomplishments, awards and potential) in these ECQs.
Technical Qualifications (TQs)- Experience creating, staffing, implementing, and effectively maintaining a proactive internal compliance and risk assessment program for a law enforcement or regulatory agency.
- Experience measuring, monitoring, and mitigating operational risks for a law enforcement or regulatory agency.
- Experience managing an internal inspection program focused on policy compliance and risk management.
- Provide executive-level input on the development, formulation, and implementation of agency policies and procedures.
