Position Overview:
The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to enhance the financial integrity and accountability of our organization.

Role Summary:
This position is integral to the OCFO, specifically within the Not for Profit Hospital Corporation (NFPHC). The selected candidate will oversee essential financial operations, including the preparation of financial statements and the execution of closing processes. Responsibilities also encompass financial reporting, audit coordination, and the management of contractual modeling and calculations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing and determining accruals for various financial components including income, expenses, payroll, and accounts payable.
  • Preparing and analyzing supporting schedules and general ledger accounts.
  • Staying informed about all relevant regulations, procedures, and interpretations from third-party payers.
  • Proposing strategies for optimizing reimbursement processes.
  • Performing additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting roles, demonstrating expertise in evaluating accounting operations, reviewing complex financial transactions, and preparing comprehensive reports. A strong understanding of accounting and auditing laws, regulations, and policies is essential for resolving issues and ensuring compliance.

Knowledge of healthcare accounting and associated regulations is preferred.


Educational Requirements:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting or a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration is required. This degree must include or be supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting, which may encompass up to six (6) hours of business law.

Applicants must provide an official transcript verifying their degree and accounting coursework to be considered.

If applicable, foreign credential evaluations must be submitted by organizations recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).


Specialized Experience:

Experience that equips the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position is required. This experience should be relevant to the work associated with the role.
