Partners with the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect to drive data innovation and data-enabled strategy: Drives the development and execution of data innovation strategies and enabling business outcomes, including exploring emerging or significant technologies and identifying opportunities to enhance data capabilities.
Partners with Agency Chief Statistical Officer and Chief Research Officer to ensure compliance with data regulations: Ensures adherence to agency and federal data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements to protect sensitive information and maintain data compliance, including but not limited to Foundations of Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018, OMB Memorandum M-19-23, and SSA General Administrative Manual 22.01.
Promotes data literacy and awareness: Promotes data literacy within the agency by providing industry and government training and education programs to enhance employees' understanding of data management and utilization.
Fosters data sharing and collaboration: Facilitates data sharing with external agencies to improve the business of federal government and break down agency data silos to maximize data value and promote innovation. Collaborates with various stakeholders within the Agency-including executives, program managers, business users, and IT teams-and external to the Agency to maximize data value and promote innovation. Effectively communicates the status, value, and importance of data collection and sharing to stakeholders to garnish support for the data governance and use strategy.
Partners with agency staff to modernize agency data infrastructure: Oversees the availability, usability, quality, and integrity of SSA data. Measures master data and reference data for compliance with policy, standards, and conceptual models. Assures the deployment and management of data quality monitoring practices.
Monitors data performance and metrics: Establish key performance indicators and metrics to track the Agency's data performance and provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership.
Provides effective leadership: Builds and develops a skilled, diverse, and resilient team of data experts to develop, implement, and maintain the Agency data governance and use strategy. Fosters a culture of collaboration and trust for a positive work environment and support, develop, and motive team members to achieve strategic results.

Note: There is a total of one (1) vacancy to be filled in either Woodlawn, MD or Washington, DC. Selectee may report to either duty station.
