Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented professionals to join our team as Accounts Examiners III in the Account Maintenance Division. As an Accounts Examiner III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our electronic reporting and payment programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review taxpayer electronic reports and payment transactions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer the sales tax WebFile program, including system enhancements and taxpayer assistance.
  • Manage Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) programs, including adding new taxes and resolving issues.
  • Verify refund requests and initiate refund issuance.
  • Interpret tax statutes and regulations to enforce electronic reporting and payment requirements.
  • Provide taxpayers and tax practitioners with information on electronic reporting and payment options.
  • Resolve taxpayer inquiries and respond to questions from taxpayers, tax practitioners, and agency personnel.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's or bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in accounting, finance, or business, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
  • Experience in tax processing systems, including ITS, TPR, and AWM.
  • Experience with franchise tax statutes and reporting requirements.
