Parking Enforcement Officer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parking Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with parking policies and regulations in designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, answering questions and providing directions as needed.
  • Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance with parking policies, using a computerized handheld device or manual tickets.
  • Assist with parking equipment maintenance, including inspecting and assessing lots for maintenance issues, painting, cleaning, and repairing parking meters and pay-and-display machines.
  • Collect and secure parking revenues and fees, using various payment methods.
  • Assist with event staff activities, including setting up for events, traffic control, and lot usage control.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of geography and hazards in the enforcement area.
  • Ability to use a handheld computer and operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
  • Ability to interact with others in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.
