As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff. You will be the first point of contact for emergency situations and will be responsible for responding to calls for assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide law enforcement and security services to the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION, including responding to emergency situations and conducting investigations.
  • Patrol hospital grounds and buildings to prevent and detect crime, and to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Conduct interviews and gather information to investigate crimes and incidents.
  • Prepare and submit reports of incidents and crimes.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and hospital staff to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement and security techniques and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Previous experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
