The Parking Compliance Officer role is responsible for managing parking regulations and ensuring safety and operational efficiency within the parking facilities associated with the Veterans Health Administration. This position offers guidance and support to Veterans, staff, visitors, and contractors as they arrive at the designated parking areas. The environment may often include high traffic, restricted access, construction activities, and special events.
Eligibility Criteria
- Current employees of the Veterans Health Administration.
This opportunity is available to all employees within the Veterans Health Administration network.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties are integral to this position:
- Act as the main contact for all parking-related inquiries within the Veterans Health Administration parking facilities.
- Identify and address parking shortages, proposing alternative solutions to minimize congestion.
- Ensure that the parking facilities are adequately secured to safeguard employees, patients, visitors, and contractors.
- Recommend modifications to traffic flow based on facility constraints, congestion levels, and special events.
- Develop and maintain tracking systems to assess the effectiveness of parking operations.
- Prepare and deliver briefings and reports to inform management about parking and traffic concerns.
- Welcome and direct patients, visitors, employees, and contractors upon arrival.
- Collaborate with supervisory personnel during peak times or special events to ensure sufficient security presence.
- Advise on signage, striping, and lighting improvements for parking areas.
- Assist individuals requiring additional support due to health or mobility issues by coordinating with relevant departments.
- Provide information and courteous assistance to all stakeholders.
- Identify and report safety hazards to the appropriate authorities.
- Facilitate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians efficiently.
