Role Summary

The Branch Operations Support Specialist is essential for the effective functioning of branch activities at New Omni Bank. This position, reporting to the Depository Operations Manager, is responsible for providing vital support to branch operations, including staffing assistance, operational guidance, and quality assurance. The Specialist ensures that high standards of service, compliance, and operational efficiency are maintained across all branches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Branch Coverage: Deliver comprehensive support to branches, particularly in filling roles during staff absences.
  • Customer Engagement: Provide outstanding service to both internal and external clients, ensuring their needs are addressed promptly.
  • Account Management: Assist in the opening and management of personal and business accounts, identifying customer needs for banking products.
  • Operational Support: Offer expert advice to branch staff, resolving operational challenges to ensure smooth branch functioning.
  • Monitoring: Review and oversee assigned reports related to internal controls, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving branch operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular assessments of branch activities to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Training: Provide and coordinate training for branch personnel to promote operational excellence.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all branch staff comply with regulatory standards, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Audit Collaboration: Work with internal and external auditors to complete assignments accurately and timely.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with management regarding branch operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: A college degree is preferred; however, significant relevant experience may also qualify candidates.
  • Experience:
    1. At least 5 years of experience in operations, preferably in branch operations.
    2. A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a banking context, including responsibilities such as employee evaluations and coaching.
  • Skills:
    1. Demonstrated leadership qualities, including maturity and empathy.
    2. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
    3. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    4. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within diverse teams.
    5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and familiarity with banking software, preferably the FIS system.
    6. Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
    7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees and clients.
    8. Bilingual skills (English and Chinese) are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt working hours and locations as necessary to meet operational needs.
