Job Summary

The Cafeteria Operations Supervisor fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by overseeing the cafeteria and lunch program in accordance with the school's philosophy and organizational structure. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing the food service program while adhering to the established guidelines of the institution. The Cafeteria Operations Supervisor holds decision-making authority within essential job functions in alignment with school policies. The position is appointed and assessed by the principal.

Essential Duties
  • Promotes and supports the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the institution.
  • Serves as a role model for Gospel values by embodying the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Complies with the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the institution and Diocese.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding institutional matters.
  • Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals.
  • Ensures that kitchen and serving areas comply with Texas State Health Department regulations.
  • Holds and maintains the necessary State of Texas food handler's certification for state inspections.
  • Exhibits a solid understanding of culinary practices and the ability to follow recipes while creating menus.
  • Keeps accurate records for cafeteria operations.
  • Maintains precise inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, submitting timely and cost-effective orders as required.
  • Supervises cafeteria staff.
  • Oversees student behavior and safety in the serving area.
  • Keeps current and accurate lunch and bookkeeping records in accordance with school policy.
  • Meets staff development requirements as outlined by the Diocese/local administration.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
  • Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students, and staff.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the work environment.
  • Exhibits a willingness to address individual student needs.
  • Possesses the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in a school setting.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to follow directions and manage multiple tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
  • No prior experience required.
Certifications and Training:
  • Food Handlers certificate in the State of Texas.
  • Complies with state and local health regulations as required.
  • Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry upon employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of application submission, and maintain EIM compliance throughout employment.
