Position Summary
Oldcastle Infrastructure, Inc. is in search of a Quality Control Manager for its Buda Precast Facility. The selected candidate will report directly to the Regional Engineering Manager and will be tasked with supervising daily quality control operations. This includes conducting process inspections, final product evaluations, coordinating support personnel schedules, and providing regular reports to the management team regarding process enhancements, recurring quality issues, non-conforming products, and other quality-related matters. The role necessitates performing a diverse range of Quality Control activities while overseeing and collaborating with 1-2 quality control technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-pour inspection checks on products as necessary.
- Perform post-pour inspection checks on products as necessary.
- Generate Corrective Action Reports for nonconforming products.
- Monitor production processes and report deficiencies as needed.
- Execute daily wet tests for concrete production pours.
- Conduct material gradation testing as required.
- Perform concrete compression tests.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive records of quality documents, reports, inspections, etc.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as required.
- Uphold NPCA and DOT certifications.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with DOT inspectors and auditors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in precast concrete inspection.
- Experience in managing a team or quality control technicians.
- Completion of a 2-Year Technical College program or equivalent hands-on experience in building materials.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
- Texas DOT certification is highly desirable or the ability to obtain it within three months.
- Proficiency in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong initiative.
- ACI Certification is highly desirable or the ability to obtain it within three months.
- NPCA Certification is highly desirable or the ability to obtain it within three months.
