We are seeking a highly skilled Principal UX Designer to join our Foundational People Data Services (FPDS) team at Amazon. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for defining and championing the vision for how our customers onboard, discover, share, and consume the freshest employee data that powers thousands of services across Amazon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead high-priority design projects that are often ambiguous and complex with multiple persona scenarios.
  • Define frameworks and methodologies to scale design, drive adoption across teams, and strategically balance trade-offs between competing priorities.
  • Foster a customer-obsessed design culture by sharing best practices, evangelizing design principles, and influencing product strategy.
  • Provide leadership and design direction, influencing across teams and giving thoughtful, detailed, and actionable design feedback.
  • Promote collaboration and facilitate communication with stakeholders at all levels and across diverse disciplines and geographies.
About the Team

Our team has seen rapid growth, with Amazon systems consuming 1 trillion employee records annually through billions of API calls to our 1P data services each week. We have 5,000+ builder customer teams across AWS, Alexa, Payroll, Builder Tools, MyHR, A to Z, Clarity, GREF, Workplace Health & Safety, Time and Attendance, and more – over 75% of them are outside of People Experience & Technology (PXT).

Requirements
  • 10+ years of design experience.
  • Experience integrating UX research into customer experience, team culture, development process, and design principles.
  • Experience in managing UX Design and rapid prototyping efforts.
  • Experience working cross-team and synthesizing feedback and input from marketing and product management.
  • Experience with interactive prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe).
