About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Business Development to join our team at Caribou Biosciences, Inc. As a key member of our Business Development team, you will play a critical role in driving our corporate objectives and advancing our pipeline of off-the-shelf, allogeneic cell therapies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to identify and pursue new business opportunities across a broad range of therapeutic areas and technology platforms.
  • Partnership Development: Lead the execution of business development transactions, including in-licensing, out-licensing, and partnering activities, to advance our corporate objectives.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitive landscape, and communicate key findings to the senior leadership team.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Finance, and Legal, to execute business transactions and develop business development strategies.
  • Leadership and Influence: Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members and influence stakeholders to reach common goals and facilitate decision-making processes.
Requirements
  • Education: BA, BSc, or equivalent; a degree in the life sciences is preferred; a PhD, MBA, or equivalent business/financial experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of business experience, 8 years in Pharmaceuticals, and at least 5 years in Business Development with more thorough pharmaceutical and biotech knowledge and experience.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to close deals, with a track record of success; collaborative working style with internal and external stakeholders; experience negotiating intellectual property licenses as licensor and licensee; proven experience structuring collaborations and managing alliances.
