Automation Systems Engineer

The Automation Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in the preparation and coordination of battery manufacturing equipment to facilitate new model introductions.
This position will involve collaboration with the Engineering Manager and will focus on supporting the Battery department's goal of executing Capital Projects from the planning phase through to Start of Production (SOP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, specify, coordinate, and implement all internal control requirements for data collection within the Battery department.
- Identify and eliminate obstacles that impede progress effectively.
- Prioritize tasks, create detailed schedules, and proactively communicate status updates to management.
- Assist in the shop floor-level deployment of network systems, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and connectivity to higher-level IT-managed systems.
- Contribute to the planning and monitoring of network system installations, addressing field issues in collaboration with construction coordinators.
- Uphold a safety culture by adhering to construction safety standards and addressing unsafe conditions promptly.
- Engage in a mentorship program to enhance engineering skills and knowledge.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and advancements in Industry 4.0.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, or 2+ years of relevant professional experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, including the ability to read, interpret, and modify code.
- Experience with SQL/Oracle databases and troubleshooting communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Andon visualization software and data analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
- Willingness to support operations during weekends, off-shifts, and holidays as required.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, with a maximum of 25% travel.
- Knowledge of Mitsubishi PLC programming and MES systems is preferred.
