Job Title: Senior Finance Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Associate to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As a Senior Finance Associate, you will be responsible for administering J-PAL North America's pre- and post-award financial activities for its sponsored research grants and gifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of financial activities for J-PAL NA, including preparation and submission of proposals, development and monitoring of budgets, tracking and monitoring the financial performance of grants and other funding streams.
  • Prepare grant and financial reports, and participate in award closeouts.
  • Administer J-PAL NA's financial activities, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective financial management and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least three years of experience with grants management, accounting, or financial administration.
  • Strong writing, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Financial skills related to the preparation of and reporting on complex budgets.
  • Good judgment and technical proficiency with learning and using computer applications, including Excel, Salesforce, Asana, and financial planning systems such as SAP.
