Position Overview
We are in search of a highly skilled and adaptable Senior Vice President of Finance who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership abilities and a proven track record in managing both external investor relations and internal financial planning and analysis. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Senior Vice President of Finance will be responsible for guiding financial decision-making, providing investment advice, and engaging with the Board of Directors. The candidate will oversee global financial operations across multiple regions and assess the financial implications of strategic initiatives while collaborating with business development to identify growth opportunities. Experience with initial public offerings (IPOs) is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the organization's fundraising strategies and optimize capital structure through private investments or public offerings, ensuring adequate funding for research, development, and expansion.
- Oversee the global financial strategy, long-term budgeting, and cost management to align with the company's strategic goals.
- Evaluate investment strategies by analyzing cash flow, equity, and liquidity risks.
- Deliver timely and precise financial reports, analyses, and decision support to the CEO, Board of Directors, and management team regarding investments, costs, forecasting, resource allocation, and overall financial health.
- Ensure that cash flow is sufficient to support the organization's research and operational needs.
- Maintain financial controls, compliance, and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously assess and enhance financial systems, processes, and policies to meet evolving needs and maximize return on investment.
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, including controllers, accountants, and financial analysts.
- Provide proactive leadership as part of the executive team, fostering communication and talent development across the global organization.
- Over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in global finance, accounting, and team management within the life sciences or health-related sectors.
- Proven experience as a CFO, finance officer, or in a comparable role, with the ability to effectively engage with the Board of Directors.
- Strong capability to build trust with the investment community by effectively engaging and influencing key investors and potential partners.
- Demonstrated success in corporate finance, capital market access, valuation, fundraising, and corporate accounting.
- Experience in clinical trial forecasting, critical analysis, and long-term financial outcome assessment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate financial regulations and risk management practices.
- Proficient in data analysis and forecasting methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams globally.
- Experience leading financial analysis and due diligence for successful IPOs is preferred.
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MSc/MBA or CPA is preferred.
