We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Finance Leader to join our team at Flagship Pioneering. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for implementing financial policies and driving exponential growth of our company.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with our leadership team to understand critical scientific, operational, and manufacturing decisions and their related financial impact.
- Develop and maintain annual budgets and monthly forecasts, ensuring alignment with our company's strategic goals.
- Manage cash flow and financing needs, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
- Establish and maintain reporting and billing capabilities to support commercial partnerships.
- Present financial information to our Board of Directors and ensure effective corporate governance.
- Oversee month-end closes and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Build and lead a finance team to support manufacturing, accounts payable, and payroll operations.
- Manage lease, contracts, consulting agreements, and other financial commitments.
- Continuously evaluate and drive improvements across finance operations.
- Assist with specific projects and initiatives unique to a fast-growing biotechnology start-up, such as system implementations and updates, and business process improvements.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- 10+ years of financial and accounting experience in the life sciences/biotechnology industry, with experience leading finance for a company through a successful IPO preferred.
- BS/BA in accounting or finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms.
- Excellent project management/leadership skills, with a demonstrated track record and ability to engage teams to work together towards common deadlines.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to deliver succinct and effective recommendations to senior leaders, framing complex concepts.
