Job Overview

Auria is looking for a Spacecraft Operations Specialist to contribute to the operations of the US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Prototype Operations 1 (POPS-1) program.

Individuals in this role will engage in a range of operational tasks that become increasingly sophisticated as they gain experience. The focus will be on supporting on-orbit experimentation, demonstration, and prototype spacecraft and payloads. Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of operational systems and be adept at utilizing their expertise to propose meaningful enhancements to operational protocols and mission preparedness. This position is integral to the Innovation and Prototyping Directorate of Space Systems Command.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct various analyses related to ground and spacecraft operational systems.
  • Participate in assigned projects and missions, as well as user and customer interface meetings, exercises, and rehearsals.
  • Monitor long-term trends in vehicle telemetry and alert the government to any indications of potential vehicle issues.
  • Engage in mission and pre-pass planning, scheduling, orbit analysis, and the generation of orbit products, ensuring successful contact coordination.
  • Perform real-time evaluations, trend analyses, and troubleshooting of spacecraft, payload, and ground systems in line with established mission requirements.
  • Issue commands and directives to tracking stations within specified timelines.
  • Conduct post-pass reviews with tracking stations and other real-time support centers, and take part in technical discussions.
  • Provide continuous operational support throughout the year.
  • Develop, implement, and uphold standardized operating procedures.
  • Execute tasks in accordance with established operating protocols.
  • Assist in managing and executing required shift and crew functions.
  • Support daily activities including Test and Evaluation, Crew Force Management, Satellite Telemetry Analysis, Physical Security, Spacecraft Operations, Console Operations, Mission Planning, and Technical Data Management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Specialist / Junior - Up to three years of experience; and/or a BA/BS degree.
  • Analyst / Senior - BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience, or an Associate's degree with 7+ years of experience.
  • Experience with space systems and operations or other highly technical systems or command and control operations.
  • Ability to work various rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Must hold a minimum active Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain Top Secret (TS) SCI clearance.

Compensation Range: $50,000 - $65,000 (Specialist) and $70,000 - $90,000 (Analyst)
