Job Summary

a.i. solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to serve as a Senior Operations Specialist to support operations of experimental satellite systems. The Operations Specialist will support Concept Exploration, Mission Readiness activities and Satellite Operations for unique, one-of-a-kind satellite systems in support of the Space Systems Command Innovation and Prototyping Delta (SZI). The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in space mission Pre-Launch, Launch and Early On-orbit Checkout, and On-Orbit operations activities, to include participation in mission rehearsals and exercises.
  • Obtain certification as a space mission operations engineer on multiple experimental satellite missions.
  • Release satellite commands, directives, and other related information to the global Satellite Control Network (SCN), other Government, and/or commercial satellite operations organizations.
  • Conduct post-pass critiques with tracking stations and other network support centers as required during daily operations.
  • Provide evaluations of the ground system and network status, troubleshoot problems, participate in resolution activities, and document the problems.
  • Execute memograms or procedures to recover spacecraft or ground system from anomalies.
  • Perform daily updates of spacecraft activity logs and report contact statistics into a government-provided database.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of mission-specific documentation including procedures, on-console handbooks, support plans, Operations Directives (OD), test plans and anomaly response plans.
  • Assist in the development and validation of changes to mission operations requirements.
  • Evaluate proposed operations concept changes.
  • Perform testing activities under the guidance of a test lead.
  • Perform OE training as an instructor if so qualified.
  • Identify opportunities for system automation.
Requirements
  • Currently possess an active DoD TS security clearance and obtain SCI eligibility prior to start.
  • 5 Years of Dedicated Satellite Operations Experience or equivalent technical systems operations experience.
  • H.S. diploma.
  • Desired Background: Associate's degree or higher.
  • Extensive spacecraft operator experience or other technical system operator experience.
  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others.
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact.
