Surgical Operations Director

At Children’s National, we are seeking a talented Surgical Operations Director to lead our Surgery Center of Excellence. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing division/service activities in accordance with national standards and administrative policies.



The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of related and progressive experience, with 3 years of program/operations functional management or management/supervisory experience. Familiarity with electronic database research tools and management information systems is a plus.



Responsibilities will include implementing strategic plans, collaborating with the Center Director, and developing systems to monitor and improve performance and service quality. You will also prepare budget documentation, evaluate equipment needs, and implement actions to meet budget requirements.



Additionally, you will assist in the development and evaluation of new ventures, services, and partnerships, and work with the Center Director to develop evaluation tools. Your expertise in grants management will be valuable in identifying new sources of funding and writing template proposals.



As a Surgical Operations Director, you will also be responsible for collaborating with the Center Director on hiring and disciplinary actions, ensuring personnel records are complete, and managing employee grievances. Your excellent communication and project management skills will enable you to develop business plans, create project plans, and deliver projects on time and on budget.
