Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supervisors and senior management to establish and monitor departmental performance objectives aligned with the metrics set by the Department of Homeless Services Shelter Performance System.
  • Evaluate and propose enhancements for current processes related to intake, enrollment, case conferencing, and discharge across various programs, including shelters and outreach teams.
  • Develop proactive strategies to maintain consistent audit readiness and conduct internal audits as required.
  • Work alongside the Program Director to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
  • Create effective data collection methodologies and assess client outcomes to achieve program goals related to housing and healthcare access.
  • Continuously monitor program performance, identify trends, and recommend data-driven adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Establish a standardized onboarding process for new hires across programs.
  • Maintain a centralized resource hub to enhance awareness and streamline service referrals.
  • Train staff on medication administration policies and support adherence to established models.
  • Develop a centralized tracking system for housing opportunities across programs.
  • Implement consumer satisfaction and grievance procedures, including regular surveys and client feedback mechanisms, and provide management with actionable insights.
  • Assist in preparing proposals for program development and expansion in collaboration with supervisors.
  • Oversee asset management and conduct regular audits using relevant databases.
  • Support supervisors in compiling reports for funding sources.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of corrective action plans for underperforming areas.
  • Facilitate monthly departmental meetings to discuss Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Establish a systematic approach to monitor housing outcomes and develop best practices for client placements.
  • Submit regular reports to supervisors as needed.
  • Supervise Quality Assurance and Housing staff as assigned.
  • Act as a point of contact for compliance and performance-related inquiries in the absence of senior leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, public health, sociology, human services, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in social services or a comparable field.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with standard business technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of data management and analysis is essential.
  • Experience with CARES, StreetSmart, and AWARDS databases is advantageous.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to represent the organization at various functions.
  • Capability to collect and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and outcomes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of objects up to 10 pounds.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged durations.
  • Ability to navigate multiple flights of stairs.
  • Capability to bend and retrieve documents or objects.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the boroughs using public transportation.
  • Ability to travel at least 1 mile in various weather conditions.
  • Completion of a TB Test within the initial employment period is required.
