Position Title: Licensed Behavioral Consultant

Summary of Responsibilities:

A Licensed Behavioral Consultant (LBC) delivers intensive therapeutic services to children in various settings. Under the guidance of the Clinical Manager, the Consultant leads the clinical direction for each child on their caseload, revises the Individual Treatment Plan (ITP), and oversees its implementation. The Consultant collaborates with adults in the child's environment to establish appropriate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Coordinates clinical treatment direction for assigned children, working with families and treatment professionals.
  • Acts as a resource for crisis management and problem-solving.
  • Leads the development of treatment plans and guides team members in their execution.
  • Provides support to fellow Consultants as needed.

Planning:

  • Engages in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitates meetings to anticipate clinical needs.
  • Creates treatment plans based on evaluations, adhering to agency standards.

Monitoring:

  • Ensures compliance with regulations.
  • Monitors treatment goals and updates plans as necessary.
  • Conducts regular assessments of consumer progress.

Direct Service:

  • Provides individualized, strengths-based psychotherapy weekly.
  • Facilitates group psychotherapy sessions as needed.
  • Delivers authorized services and manages case-related communications.

Communication:

  • Maintains regular contact with families and other stakeholders regarding progress.
  • Effectively communicates program goals to all involved parties.
  • Participates in treatment team and IEP meetings.

Documentation:

  • Records all therapy sessions and related activities promptly.
  • Develops treatment plans based on evaluations in accordance with standards.
  • Completes incident reports as required.

Networking:

  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Refers families to appropriate services based on identified needs.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess treatment needs and implement effective interventions.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health systems and therapeutic models.
  • Experience in psychosocial assessment and treatment planning.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a clinical mental health discipline with relevant experience.
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with child-serving systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to the role.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.

  • Willingness to engage in trauma-informed practices.
  • Understanding of trauma's impact on development.
