Discovery Therapy, a compassionate organization dedicated to supporting our team of therapists, is in search of skilled Behavioral Specialist Consultants (BSCs) to enhance our Early Intervention initiatives.

We are looking for a dedicated Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) to contribute to our community-focused Early Intervention team in the greater Philadelphia area. We cater to a diverse range of zip codes within Philadelphia County.

This role involves providing essential services to children facing various developmental and learning challenges, requiring the expertise of Behavior Specialists.

We offer a variety of employment options, including full-time, part-time, and contract/per-diem roles. *1099 Contractor Position* with flexible hours available from Monday to Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM.

The Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs for clients in both home and community environments. The BSC will create tailored treatment plans in collaboration with families and track clients' progress towards their objectives. This role includes supervising the application of behavioral assessments, functional assessments, and the execution of treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and formulate treatment strategies.
  • Train all involved parties (parents, teachers, caregivers) on the implementation of treatment plans.
  • Establish effective behavioral data collection systems to ensure regular evaluation of treatment plans and goal achievement.
  • Utilize clinical data to monitor progress and adjust programming as necessary.
  • Employ clinical outcome measures and individualized data to inform treatment plan updates and aftercare strategies.
  • Maintain regular consultation and coordination with all stakeholders involved in the treatment plan.
  • Support Therapeutic Support Staff in executing designed ABA programs through case consultation.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions, childcare facilities, and other relevant professionals.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, education, social work, counseling, or a related BACB-approved field.
  • Current Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal Background Check, and FBI Clearances.
  • A minimum of one year of post-college experience in implementing ABA programs for individuals under 21 with autism spectrum disorder or similar diagnoses.
  • Proficient in utilizing appropriate assessment tools for children aged three to five.
  • Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis principles, including data collection and record-keeping systems.
  • Experience with adaptive/functional clinical assessments, ABA program development, and behavior reduction strategies.
  • Ability to address age-specific issues relevant to the population served.
  • Competence in addressing the emotional and psychological needs of children and families.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
