Position Overview
The MEP Practice at JMT has experienced steady growth for over two decades in the mid-Atlantic region. We are currently expanding in key areas, necessitating the recruitment of technical leaders for critical roles. The Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer will oversee project objectives, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. This role serves as the primary technical advisor on specialized systems or processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work for major projects.
- Supervise the production of design computations.
- Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Attend client meetings to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Essential Skills
- A desire to engage in both design and technical management activities.
- Openness to a variety of project types and a willingness to learn new mechanical system requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written and communication skills.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience.
- Professional Engineer License.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in a specialized discipline.
- Proficiency in discipline-specific design software.

Preferred Qualifications
- Over 20 years of experience with federal, state, and/or county agencies.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Project management and business development experience.
- Familiarity with various project delivery methods.

Working Conditions
The majority of work is conducted in a general office environment, with options for hybrid or remote work. While primarily sedentary, some tasks may require occasional standing and walking. Fieldwork may be necessary, exposing employees to varying weather conditions.
