As a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Balance of Plant systems, you will play a pivotal role in the design and optimization of systems within nuclear power facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Performing comprehensive engineering analyses and evaluations to enhance the functionality of plant systems, with a particular emphasis on hydraulic dynamics, thermal transfer, and overall heat balance.
  • Drafting modification proposals for existing operational nuclear power plants.
  • Generating detailed mechanical and system schematics tailored for nuclear power applications.
  • Formulating technical specifications and procurement documentation for essential plant equipment.
  • Assessing vendor proposals for plant machinery and components.
  • Conducting thorough studies and evaluations regarding system modifications in active nuclear power facilities.

Additionally, you will have the chance to:

  • Estimate engineering costs associated with client-specific project scopes.
  • Engage with clients through site visits and presentations, effectively communicating engineering concepts and solutions.
  • Lead and mentor engineering project teams to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience within the power sector.
  • Familiarity with the codes, standards, and regulations governing mechanical engineering design in nuclear environments.
  • Experience with power uprates and turbine systems is highly desirable.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not a requirement.
