Position Overview:

As an Electrical Systems Engineer at M.C. Dean, Inc., you will play a crucial role in our multidisciplinary engineering and construction team. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and integrating engineering deliverables for intricate electrical construction projects across various sectors, including mission critical, healthcare, industrial, transportation, pharmaceutical, and federal.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

1. Create and execute detailed designs with minimal supervision from Senior Engineers, focusing on:
- Normal power medium and low voltage distribution systems.
- Emergency power generation and distribution systems, including UPS.
2. Collaborate with other trades to coordinate device locations, ensuring alignment with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural requirements.
3. Design interior and exterior lighting systems, including controls and layouts, while performing necessary lighting calculations.
4. Develop project specifications for all equipment and installation methods.
5. Analyze electrical distribution systems, conducting assessments such as short circuit analysis, overcurrent device coordination, and arc flash studies.
6. Document design work utilizing AutoCAD and Revit in both 2D and 3D formats.
7. Provide construction support, including responding to Requests for Information and reviewing project equipment submittals.
8. Mentor and manage tasks for entry-level engineers, assisting Project Lead Engineers in overseeing project deliverables.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

- A Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited program.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the design or commissioning of building power systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with essential engineering responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- EIT Certification or eligibility to sit for the Professional Engineers License exam within two years of hire.
- Experience in mission critical, healthcare, industrial, transportation, pharmaceutical, and federal sectors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software, along with engineering analysis tools such as AGI32, ElumTools, SKM, or ETAP.
- Eligibility for a DOD security clearance.
