Senior Commercial Banking Officer

The Senior Commercial Banking Officer is accountable for devising business development strategies and implementing sales initiatives to secure new commercial accounts within the designated market. This role involves making sales calls and conducting visits to business clients, affluent individuals, and potential prospects to assess their needs, tailor solutions that will enhance customer satisfaction, and fulfill their loan, deposit, and service requirements. The Senior Commercial Banking Officer is tasked with achieving deposit and loan growth targets while managing a diverse and intricate customer portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the quality, profitability, and expansion of business and consumer products through appropriate pricing and fee structures.
- Employs effective sales methodologies to attract, grow, and maintain customer relationships.
- Utilizes need-based sales techniques to enhance customer relationships by identifying suitable products and services.
- Develops business development strategies for the assigned market; identifies opportunities and engages in sales outreach to current clients and prospects.
- Conducts thorough analysis of customer and prospect financials to evaluate their viability.
- Reviews loan applications, tax documents, income statements, bank statements, and other pertinent data to determine actual cash flow and perform ongoing credit assessments within policy parameters.
- Identifies and structures large, intricate loan and deposit opportunities that optimize credit quality and profitability.
- Coordinates portfolio management activities in collaboration with a team that may include Credit Analysts and Commercial Banking Assistants.
- Applies a high level of business insight and risk management expertise to evaluate the viability of loan and deposit opportunities.
- Prepares and presents accurate, comprehensive, and relevant information to the Loan Committee for loan approvals.
- Oversees ongoing quality control for a portfolio by ensuring proper documentation, compliance, and collection efforts.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotions.
- Responsible for achieving market objectives as established by Bank leadership.
- Utilizes Customer Relationship Management systems to monitor sales activities and prospects.
- Ensures adherence to internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies.
- Represents the Bank in business development initiatives and at networking and community events.
- Fosters partnerships and collaborates with other business lines to achieve shared goals and better serve customers.
- Ensures compliance with AML/BSA requirements, audit procedures, dual control, security, Business Continuity, and all other regulatory banking requirements.
- Adheres to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or 6 years of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of ten years of demonstrated success in Commercial Banking.
- Proficient in market analysis, prospect identification, and the development and execution of consultative, value-added sales strategies.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed established performance targets.
- Established track record of building relationships with business, civic, and governmental organizations.
- Currently recognized within the local community, with a solid reputation and following.
- Flexibility in work hours to accommodate client needs.
