Position Overview:

As part of our dynamic legal team, the successful candidate will be a proactive, business-oriented individual who excels in collaboration. You will be responsible for analyzing complex legal matters, assessing legal and business risks, and proposing actionable solutions. This role entails comprehensive management of assigned projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

General Corporate Matters

  • Proactively work to mitigate litigation risks and provide counsel on potentially contentious issues.
  • Collaborate with external legal advisors on various corporate matters.
  • Support senior executives and various departments in addressing legal and compliance issues.
  • Establish and oversee legal entities.

Real Estate Transactions

  • Assist in real estate transactions, including acquisitions and sales.
  • Draft letters of intent for new ventures.
  • Review and negotiate purchase agreements.

Financing Transactions

  • Support all financing activities, including drafting and negotiating relevant agreements.

Corporate Governance

  • Draft operating agreements and other essential documents for corporate entities.
  • Manage corporate compliance and filing requirements.

Commercial Leasing

  • Negotiate and draft lease agreements and amendments with commercial tenants.

Development Projects

  • Provide legal support to the development team throughout various project phases.

Asset Management

  • Serve as legal counsel for property management operations.
  • Collaborate with property managers on legal issues related to properties.

Litigation Management

  • Oversee litigation matters handled by external counsel and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Work with risk management on insurance claims and related issues.

Human Resources Collaboration

  • Partner with HR to address employment-related legal matters.
  • Ensure compliance with real estate policies and local regulations.

Qualifications:


• Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant legal experience required.


• Juris Doctor (JD) and Bachelor's degree required.


• Experience in a large New York real estate law firm or corporate legal department preferred.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Proven problem-solving abilities.


• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• High ethical standards and integrity.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
