Job Overview

Position Summary

Hasbani & Light, P.C. is in search of a dedicated associate attorney with a minimum of 2 years of expertise in real estate litigation and foreclosure matters, particularly focusing on creditor's rights. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional intelligence, self-drive, and the ability to excel in a dynamic, high-volume legal environment. Admission to the New York State Bar is mandatory, while additional admission to the New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania State Bar is regarded as a significant advantage. Please note that applicants who are not yet admitted to the bar are kindly requested to refrain from applying. This position requires on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in real estate litigation cases, which includes conducting thorough legal research, drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs, and preparing for court appearances.
  • Participate in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, effectively advocating for the interests of our clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to formulate litigation strategies, ensuring optimal outcomes for our clients.
  • Engage with clients, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties to negotiate settlements, resolve disputes, and provide legal counsel.
  • Stay informed about legal developments and changes in real estate laws and regulations, integrating them into practice as needed.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar; admission to New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate litigation.
  • Strong understanding of real estate laws, regulations, and litigation procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
