Role Summary
The Senior Manufacturing Operations Leader will oversee all aspects of production, processes, and personnel within the designated Manufacturing Unit. This role is crucial in achieving strategic objectives and enhancing team capabilities while ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for meeting key strategic, operational, and functional targets.
  • Mentor and develop the manufacturing team to drive performance through a focus on production efficiency and employee development.
  • Coordinate and prioritize activities within the manufacturing unit to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage the budget and staffing levels for the manufacturing unit effectively.
  • Establish and communicate ambitious SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) goals.
  • Translate unit targets into specific, measurable objectives for each team member.
  • Initiate and implement changes to meet both short-term and long-term SQDC goals.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly while demonstrating servant leadership.
  • Lead the team in alignment with BD's core values.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure each team member has a development plan.
  • Facilitate DTM (Daily Team Meetings) and oversee the creation of DTM work processes.
  • Collaborate with logistics to optimize production schedules and monitor performance.
  • Provide timely assessments of team members through coaching and feedback.
  • Engage with associates to address concerns and involve HR when necessary.
  • Enhance personal expertise in operations and people management.
  • Spend significant time on the production floor to oversee activities and support business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with BD's quality systems and all relevant safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Industrial Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with high automation.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
