KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess material, equipment, and labor costs to evaluate project viability.
  • Implement system integrations for manufacturing machinery and the necessary support services for maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Develop technical specifications and functional requirements for projects related to facilities.
  • Evaluate new equipment against industrial specifications and suggest modifications as needed.
  • Comply with established standards, policies, and practices concerning quality, cost efficiency, safety, hazardous materials, and ergonomics while executing assigned tasks.
  • Maintain and update standards and specifications, propose changes to resolve design and construction challenges, and prepare regular reports on project status.
  • Calculate costs for equipment, materials, and installation to assess the feasibility of alternatives and return on investment.
  • Provide design insights, review and approve proposals, and act as the primary contact for the company.
  • Authorize drawings, specify equipment, and prepare purchase requisitions.
  • Oversee the work of external contractors.
  • Diagnose issues, investigate failures, and determine the need for repairs or enhancements to systems or equipment.
  • Address challenges in designing cost-effective and efficient systems, make recommendations on equipment purchases, and stay informed on technical advancements in the design sector.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Creo 3D CAD modeling and drawing software or equivalent applications (e.g., Inventor/Solidworks).
  • Familiarity with shop operations and maintenance protocols, with prior experience in a specific discipline.
  • Understanding of machine tools with practical experience.
  • Project management experience and skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project and Primavera.
  • Experience with heavy machinery installation and foundational work.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in designing or redesigning service systems, including heat treatment equipment, material handling systems, filtration systems, and utilities for water, gas, steam, and air heating and ventilation.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong communication abilities and a basic understanding of functions performed by skilled trades personnel.
  • Interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Capability to build robust relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Comprehension of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Aptitude for accurately transmitting, receiving, and interpreting ideas, information, and needs through appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
