Position Overview

Project Delivery Partners is seeking a Lead Project Planner to oversee and guide a team of scheduling professionals responsible for executing a significant CAPEX initiative within the BioPharma sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Project Controls Manager, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with planning teams to deliver critical insights that support the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCmV) group in the execution of large-scale CAPEX projects.
  • Utilize advanced planning and scheduling methodologies, risk analysis, and management techniques to meet project objectives.
  • Provide expertise to the client project team, ensuring clarity in scope definition, establishment of baselines, risk identification, and performance tracking.
Main Duties
  • Demonstrate expertise in project controls and schedule management, preferably within the Pharma/Biotech sectors.
  • Exhibit proficiency in project scheduling tools such as MS Project and Primavera P6, along with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Coordinate and organize multiple sources of schedule inputs into a comprehensive master schedule, delivering status reports as needed.
  • Implement project planning and scheduling strategies that reflect the roles and responsibilities of both the company and contractors.
  • Develop and manage project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) effectively.
  • Conduct thorough schedule analysis, including critical path and risk assessments, to ensure project alignment with timelines.
  • Analyze deviations from the baseline schedule, identifying bottlenecks and proposing corrective measures.
  • Prepare integrated planning contributions for monthly project reports and presentations.
  • Assess the impact of any changes or variances on the overall project schedule.
  • Formulate resource plans for project phases, identifying potential peaks and recommending leveling strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of schedule-related data from vendors, suppliers, and contractors with the integrated master schedule.
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of schedules, providing independent advice on critical issues.
  • Balance multiple projects across various locations and contractors, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Foster strong working relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in CAPEX projects with a focus on planning and scheduling, ideally in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industries.
  • Extensive experience in schedule setup, baselining, monitoring, and controlling large-scale projects across all EPC phases.
  • In-depth understanding of risk and change management principles.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities in cross-functional environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with Primavera P6.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, cross-functional organization with stringent timelines and ambitious goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Qualified candidates must be prepared to work on-site, as remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
