Position Overview

Project Delivery Partners is seeking a Lead Project Planner to oversee and guide a team of planners responsible for executing a significant CAPEX initiative within the BioPharma sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Project Controls Manager, collaborating closely with planning teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Support the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCmV) group by providing essential decision-making information.
  • Manage advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and change management for major projects or multiple smaller initiatives.
  • Provide expertise in defining project scope, establishing baselines, managing risks, and monitoring project performance.
Main Duties
  • Demonstrate proficiency in project controls and time/schedule management, ideally within the Pharma/Biotech sectors.
  • Utilize advanced project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6), along with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Organize and coordinate various schedule inputs into a comprehensive master schedule and deliver project status reports as needed.
  • Implement project planning and scheduling strategies, reflecting both company and contractor roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop and execute project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Conduct probabilistic analysis on integrated and contractor schedules.
  • Perform critical path and schedule risk analysis for the overall project.
  • Identify deviations from the baseline schedule, highlight bottlenecks, and propose corrective measures.
  • Prepare the Integrated Planning/Scheduling contribution for monthly project reports and specific presentations.
  • Analyze the impact of any variances or change orders on the overall schedule.
  • Develop resource plans for project phases, identifying peak demands and recommending leveling strategies.
  • Ensure alignment and integration of schedule-related data from vendors, suppliers, and contractors into the master schedule.
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of schedules, providing independent advice on planning issues.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects across various locations and contractors.
  • Foster strong communication and interpersonal relationships within the project team.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in CAPEX projects with a focus on planning and scheduling, preferably in the Biotech or Pharmaceutical industries.
  • Extensive experience in schedule setup, baselining, monitoring, and controlling large-scale projects across all EPC phases.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk and change management principles.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with software systems, including Primavera P6.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-performance, cross-functional organization with tight deadlines and ambitious goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Qualified candidates must be available for on-site work; remote or hybrid arrangements are not applicable.
