Job Summary

The Medical Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team at Lee Health, providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced clinical environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with our physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Collect and process lab specimens, perform phlebotomy, and conduct point-of-care testing to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Assist with minor procedures, maintain patient records, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Operate medical equipment, handle and administer medications, and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with our healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care, including coordinating requests for information and prescriptions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assisting program or post-secondary medical assisting program preferred.
  • 1 year of medical assisting experience in a physician's office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in lieu of degree/diploma from an accredited medical assisting program.
  • Certifications such as CMA, CCMA, or RMA preferred; BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
