As a Charge Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in reviewing and correcting professional billing charges on hold using billing protocols, carrier claim rules, and advising. Your expertise will ensure timely and accurate billing submissions, resulting in clean claim submissions and first-submission payment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Charge Review and Correction: Review and correct professional billing charges on hold using billing protocols and carrier claim rules.
  • Communication and Advising: Communicate with providers and/or their representatives to ensure billing is filed timely and accurately.
  • Workflow Management: Work in the Practice Management System in Workflow Dashboard reviewing claims for corrections or release.
  • Productivity and Efficiency: Work efficiently to maximize productivity and meet deadlines.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
  • Error Trending: Trend claim hold errors for management as requested.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma and one year of experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Experience: Physician billing or medical practice experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems; Athena knowledge preferred but not required.
