Position: Junior Model-Based Systems Engineer

Location: Eglin AFB, Florida

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize expertise in advanced systems engineering tools and languages, such as Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Cameo Systems Modeler. Familiarity with Rational Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) or equivalent tools, as well as Siemens Teamcenter, is essential.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in collaborative Cloud-based environments, employing modeling languages (including but not limited to SysML, C++, and Linux) alongside software tools like Cameo, Siemens Teamcenter, and Jira/Confluence. Experience in creating and managing databases using Structured Query Language (SQL) and Oracle on both Linux and Windows platforms is required.
  • Execute engineering tasks that support management operations within AFLCMC/EB, applying comprehensive knowledge of advanced engineering theories, principles, and standards to ensure project alignment with program objectives, budget, timelines, and performance criteria.
  • Possess familiarity with Department of Defense, Air Force, and related policy documents, publications, and regulations relevant to acquisition and engineering.
  • Provide guidance to Program Office and Engineering leadership in the development and implementation of a systems engineering reference architecture for complex aerospace propulsion systems.
  • Participate in meetings, generate strategic plans, author technical documents, and offer insights to a consortium of major defense contractors involved in systems architecture development.
  • Effectively communicate with technical representatives from industry partners and government stakeholders to manage consortium direction and decisions.
  • Engage actively in defining a common style guide, determining model fidelity levels for high-level system models, and refining a shared reference architecture for consortium use.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in Confluence and Cameo modeling is mandatory.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule available during core business hours.

Additional Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory for this position.
  • Candidate must successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required.
