Job Summary
Cogent, a leading provider of fluid pumping and water processing solutions, is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing a defined territory and building strong relationships with existing and new customers in the industrial, power, oil & gas, chemical, water, and wastewater markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with our inside sales team to develop strategic approaches for sales at key customers
- Collaborate with our engineering and procurement divisions to review specifications, interpret customer needs, and prepare quotations
- Maintain strong relationships with key manufacturers and vendors to achieve product quotas
- Analyze customer requirements and engage in consultative selling to provide value-added services and products
- Provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries
- Complete work order forms for order entry and invoicing
- Communicate cancellations or changes in sales orders to relevant personnel
- Review purchase orders to ensure customer technical needs are met
- Perform proactive sales inquiries to stimulate new sales activity with inactive customers
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical and rotating equipment
- Excellent selling and communication skills
- Engineering degree or related mechanical or technical sales and problem-solving experience
- Great attitude and work ethic
