Job Summary

Volt is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Operations Planner and Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for planning and recommending schedules for routine and non-routine maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Recommend Schedules: Review work order requirements with process engineering, facilities operations, and production supervisors to determine appropriate timing, ensure availability of people and equipment, and get preliminary approval of scheduling considerations.
  • Develop Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Maintenance Schedules: Create schedules based on materials availability, priority of requests, production considerations, and craftsperson time availability.
  • Communicate with Facilities Operations Inventory Specialist: Ensure all parts are available or ordered for scheduled work orders.
  • Enter, Plan, Update, and Close Shop Work Orders: Enter, plan, update, and close shop work orders in SAMS or SAP for accurate accounting and record-keeping.
  • Complete Forms and Reports: Complete forms and reports relating to planning, scheduling, and completion of work orders to provide appropriate information for facilities operations and production personnel.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Engineers: Review actual versus planned work order reports to ensure effectiveness of planning and scheduling process, and to identify problem areas if any in completing work as planned.
Requirements
  • Education: High School or Trade School Diploma.
  • Experience: Planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Safety Practices: Possess a high regard for and understanding of safety practices.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with people from production, maintenance, suppliers, and engineering.
  • Organization and Time Management: Strong organization, time management, and excellent communication skills.
  • Software Experience: Experience using MS Office, CMMS, SAP, or other planning software.
  • Attitude and Availability: Display and execute a positive, can-do attitude. Ability to work overtime as needed.
