Position Summary
The Culinary Operations Leader is tasked with managing the daily functions of the kitchen. This role involves overseeing and directing the activities within their designated area, ensuring that exceptional customer service is delivered consistently. A commitment to learning all facets of the role is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in food service or a related industry is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity is essential.
- Experience in liaising with government personnel/customers regarding contracted services is necessary.
- Knowledge of Tri-Service Standards (Sanitation and Medical standards) is required.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.) are necessary.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and team members is expected.
- Strong management communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills are required.
- Must meet eligibility criteria for work assignments on specified contracts.
- Ability to pass organizational screening requirements, including state or federal background checks as applicable.
The compensation for this position is set at $29.16 per hour. The federal government provides Health and Welfare (H&W) dollars for team members covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA), with the current H&W rate being $4.57 per eligible hour worked, contributing to employee benefits.
Physical Demands
This role may require travel to various locations and buildings throughout the year, in diverse weather conditions. Most tasks will be performed indoors, and there may be exposure to cleaning chemicals. Adherence to Emergency Operations Work Assignments as per customer requirements is mandatory. Schedules may vary and can include early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening, weekends, and holidays.
While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach overhead, sit (to drive), and lift up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, lifting or moving up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
