Position Overview for Financial Collections Specialist:
  • Compensation: $23 per hour
  • Business casual attire is encouraged.
ROLE SUMMARY: The primary responsibility is to communicate with customers regarding overdue accounts and facilitate payment collection through various methods. To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the key responsibilities outlined below.
Key Responsibilities for Financial Collections Specialist:
  • Alert management about accounts that pose a high risk through regular reviews.
  • Maintain a healthy portfolio by collaborating with customers to address overdue payments.
  • Reach out to customers via phone and email to inform them of outstanding invoices.
  • Handle incoming inquiries from customers and update account information accordingly.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks related to the assigned portfolio.
  • Document customer financial statuses and collection efforts.
  • Meet established metrics for communication volume.
  • Manage a high volume of email correspondence efficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cross-train for additional departmental responsibilities as needed.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and suggest improvements for efficiency.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in collections or customer service is preferred.
  • Background in a business-to-business environment is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service aptitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and use hands and fingers for various tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Vision capabilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required.
  • Work environment is typically quiet.
  • May work near warehouse equipment.
  • Must be punctual and adhere to scheduled hours.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
