About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at United Hospital Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in setting up for scheduled cases with necessary supplies and instrumentation.
  • Transport patients to the operating room and position them correctly on the OR table.
  • Adhere to national patient safety goals by verifying the correctness of the surgical site and procedure.
  • Follow proper surgical scrubbing and gowning procedures.
  • Assist in accounting for instruments, sharps, and sponges used during surgical procedures.
  • Pass surgical instruments and sharps to and from the surgeon.
  • Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room.
  • Familiarize yourself with and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist with endoscopic procedures, including patient positioning and gloving.
  • Decontaminate surgical instrumentation and monitor the autoclave for sterilization.
  • Safeguard patient privacy and maintain confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Completion of a Surgical Technology program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of surgical technology experience.
