Turbomachinery Thermal Analyst III

We are seeking an experienced Turbomachinery Thermal Analyst to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Transportation business unit, you will play a critical role in the development of our Blue Moon lander product lines.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thermal analysis and modeling of turbomachinery components and assemblies using ANSYS
- Develop and anchor thermal models to test data, making recommendations for design changes and future test campaigns
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure thermal performance meets mission requirements
- Work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
- 6+ years of experience in turbomachinery thermal and fluid analysis in ANSYS
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, flow, and thermodynamic first principles
- Excellent analysis bookkeeping skills
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
- Experience with cryogenic applications and electric motor driven pumps
- Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications
- Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC) related to turbomachinery components
Blue Origin offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $102,383-$143,335 for on-site CO applicants, $111,690-$156,366 for on-site WA applicants, and $111,690-$156,366 for on-site CA applicants. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
