Job Title: Intelligence Analyst III

Job Summary:

The State of Colorado is seeking a highly skilled Intelligence Analyst III to join our team. As an Intelligence Analyst III, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information on CDOC offenders to assist internal and external major law enforcement investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify intelligence information and analytical support to the Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Division of Adult Parole.
  • Examine computer data systems within the CDOC, outside criminal justice information systems, open source databases, public records, outside agency generated crime bulletins, and media reports to identify, collect, and analyze data.
  • Assist community parole officers in data needs not easily accessible to them.
  • Identify as a point of contact with CDOC, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure strong working relationships and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • 6 years of professional experience in criminal justice information analysis, data mining, process/program evaluation, assessment development, and validation research.
  • Ability to read and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior customer service.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skill and ability to readily recognize system processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional experience as defined above with the State of Colorado.
  • Experience with NCIC/CCIC databases interpreting computerized investigatory tools.
  • Experience performing legal research and analyzing legal documents.
  • Experience interpreting complex rules and regulations.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting state and federal statutes.

Working Conditions:

The Intelligence Analyst III will work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating noise and temperature. The position requires the ability to work in an environment with varying levels of noise and temperature, as well as the ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
