Job Overview

Solutions³ LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a significant mission-critical program for a U.S. Government client. This role involves the design, development, and operation of a network operations environment, with a focus on integrating advanced cyber capabilities to counteract emerging threats.

Position Summary:
The Network Security Tools Engineer will play a vital role in formulating and executing cyber engineering strategies, tools, and methodologies aimed at bolstering a system's resilience against both current and future cyber threats.

The ideal candidate will engage in hands-on management of both on-premises and cloud-based security devices, ensuring controlled access to the network and monitoring network traffic to thwart external intrusions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver cybersecurity engineering support across systems, components, security tools, and processes for both developmental and operational cyber tools.
  • Collaborate independently or within a team to address cybersecurity engineering challenges.
  • Assess and enhance existing cyber protection tools to improve security posture, providing actionable recommendations for system remediation and protection.
  • Conduct cyber criticality, mission impact, and risk assessments of proposed tools.
  • Translate analytical insights into security use cases that can be integrated into existing surveillance capabilities.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports of analysis outcomes, including PowerPoint presentations and Word documents, tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Oversee the operation and management of multiple cloud and on-premises network security devices, providing technical support and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Implement new application versions upon release.
  • Develop application documentation, diagrams, and other deliverables for tool maintenance, including technical designs using Visio.

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability and a TS/SCI clearance.
  • A minimum of 6 years of software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Agile software development.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of cyber defensive operations and technologies.
  • Experience with the installation and configuration of SecureSphere Imperva Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Database Activity Monitoring (DAM).
  • Advanced skills in securing network traffic using AWS API Gateway and AWS Application Load Balancers, along with cloud security technologies.
  • Familiarity with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), RSA Security Analytics, Symantec Bluecoat, Cisco FirePower, Splunk, and PKI.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud DevOps Administration or Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with Network Security Identity Management tools, including installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with DHS projects is a plus.

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Alternatively, eight years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
Certifications:
  • Current certifications such as CISA, GCIH, GCED, CISSP, CASP, or Security+ are preferred.
  • AWS certifications including Cloud DevOps Developer Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate, Advanced Networking Specialty, or Security Specialty are advantageous.
