Position OverviewThe Contracting Services Department is in search of a Subcontracts Administrator with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Commercial Purchasing or Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the FAR/DFARS regulations, sourcing methodologies, market analysis, price evaluation, negotiation techniques, and the process of awarding and documenting purchases for materials and services. Experience with bid/proposal activities, including the use of reverse auctions to enhance competition, is essential.
The selected individual will be responsible for managing a diverse range of commercial commodities and services. Responsibilities include executing purchase orders and modifications, as well as delivering professional and courteous customer service to clients through both phone and email interactions. The candidate will ensure that requirements are reviewed and orders are prioritized and placed in a timely manner. This role supports internal clients by providing complete, accurate, and current information regarding products and services, pricing, and availability.
Key Responsibilities- Soliciting and analyzing quotations from various suppliers.
- Negotiating terms and conditions of purchases.
- Collaborating with customers and vendors to resolve issues related to shipments, defective items, and expediting orders.
- Preparing all necessary correspondence and documentation to secure government consent.
- Additional project work may be assigned as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of Purchasing experience is required; experience with DoD Contracts is a plus.
- Professional certification in Purchasing or Government Contracting is preferred.
- Experience with the acquisition of complex commercial purchases is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- SAP procurement experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity with online PO documentation tools.
- Ability to negotiate favorable pricing and terms and conditions.
- Demonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas both in writing and orally within a cross-functional environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain government (DoD) clearance.
