Durable Medical Equipment Specialist

As a Durable Medical Equipment Specialist at the University of Kentucky, you will play a crucial role in the transportation and distribution of medical supplies to home care patients. This position requires excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, dependable, and have the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining a positive attitude. You will work closely with the DME staff to meet the needs of the department, including assisting with procurement and movement of supplies, preventative maintenance of equipment, and routine cleaning requirements.
This position also requires the ability to drive a University of Kentucky Motor Pool vehicle for courier services to both on-site and off-site locations. You must maintain a clean driving record, have a valid driver's license, and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely.
Responsibilities- Assist DME staff in the transportation and distribution of medical supplies to home care patients
- Work closely with DME staff to meet the needs of the department
- Assist with procurement and movement of supplies
- Perform preventative maintenance of equipment
- Conduct routine cleaning requirements
- Drive a University of Kentucky Motor Pool vehicle for courier services
- Basic computer skills
