Position Summary

Spectrum Software Technologies (SST) is in search of a Senior Research Scientist with an active Secret Clearance. This role involves contributing to engineering and scientific research, development, testing, studies, and associated activities within the TSL Lab located in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award. Candidates with Secret Clearance are encouraged to apply.

As a Senior Research Scientist, your responsibilities will encompass conducting research, design, development, analysis, and evaluation of intricate security systems. You will explore the potential of various physics methodologies for further advancement, identify opportunities for technology/system integration, and evaluate the applicability of technologies within the homeland security sector. Your role will also include drafting experimental/test plans and procedures, executing tests, gathering test data, and composing technical documentation.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in executing a range of complex laboratory analytical procedures.
  • Familiarity with automated data collection, analysis, and presentation techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in personal computing and commercial software applications.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations at conferences and professional gatherings.
  • In-depth knowledge of physics and/or chemistry, particularly in the development of physics or chemistry/trace-based systems.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., physics, chemistry) from an accredited institution, coupled with a minimum of 6 years of experience in experimental or applied science (physics, chemistry, or related field), or
  • Master's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., physics, chemistry) from an accredited institution.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Possession of Secret Security Clearance or higher, along with DHS Suitability.
