  • The Computer Scientist III plays a pivotal role in supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Integration and Interoperability Facility (IIF) through advanced software maintenance, laboratory operations, and prototype engineering.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver architectural and client-facing support across diverse technologies and vendors, including Cisco, NetApp, VMware, and various operating systems.
  • Contribute to the design of innovative, resilient, and highly available infrastructure.
  • Ensure the functionality of high-availability web applications across multiple operating systems, with a strong understanding of load balancing and scalability.
  • Research and present white papers to introduce next-generation innovations.
  • Automate IT infrastructure processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain operational systems availability and support cloud hybrid continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Engage in information assurance processes in a technical capacity.
  • Review and update Configuration Management Database (CMDB) requirements and processes.
  • Investigate new solutions and advocate for process enhancements.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Provide mentorship and support to team members.
