Position Overview

The Engineering Science Division (ESD) at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is on the lookout for a Senior Security Systems Engineer to contribute to engineering and scientific research, development, testing, and related activities. This role is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting engineering design and analysis of intricate security systems to evaluate their potential for further development, production, and integration with other systems, particularly in the context of homeland security.
  • Utilizing your expertise in security, physical security, sensor technology, or explosive detection systems to address complex design, development, and testing challenges.
  • Creating work breakdown structures, identifying critical path elements for project success, and monitoring project activities.
  • Performing tests, gathering test data, and generating assessment reports.
  • Drafting test plans and procedures with minimal supervision, including project documentation, plans, data analysis reports, and final project reports.
  • Engaging in system automation, data collection, analysis, and presentation.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in personal computer usage and familiarity with commercial software applications.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A Secret Security Clearance or higher, along with DHS Suitability, is mandatory.

Education Requirements:
